rons rustic birdhouses: Ron's Rustic Birdhouses Presents...Flower Power - 02/21/18 03:25 PM

Greetings to everyone!

Again, Ron’s Rustic Birdhouses presents yet another creation.

This one was inspired by a variety of garden trinkets I have collected over the past year.

Some of them came from estate sales, some from antique shops and some from retail establishments.

I hope that you like the new photos.

This side shows the pump and the birdhouses and the bunnies.

This side shows off the flowers and the urn.

This front side shows off the bunny, the other birdhouse and the garden bench.

I really enjoy making these, and will be donating one to the local historical society for their silent auction in April.

Hope you … (7 comments)

rons rustic birdhouses: Ron's Rustic Birdhouses Presents....Horsing Around - 02/10/18 11:59 AM
Horsing Around came from the idea of the bale in the paddock and the great looking horses I found.

The front shows the cat, the chicken and the horses.

The left hand side shows more of the lean-to with the star on it.

The right hand side shows off the fencing and the horses.

This last photo shows the bale of hay inside and the water barrel.

Hope you enjoy the photos and your weekend.

Best, Ron

rons rustic birdhouses: Ron's Rustic Birdhouses Presents...Harvey Danialson Motorcycles - 01/28/18 11:19 AM
Well, friends, it has been a while since I have been around again.   My time does fly.

I have been extremely busy even through the fall making birdhouses.

It is almost time to get the lead out again and really get busy.  Those birdies love their houses in the springtime!

This is the newest creation, and the last motorcycle birdhouse I made sold in less than three days so we will see what happens this time.

I had had this one in mind since last summer because I had two “choppers” in my collection.

This one even has a small scooter in the front.

The back wall … (21 comments)

rons rustic birdhouses: Ron's Rustic Birdhouses Presents..Birdhouse on a Stick and Garden Tips - 03/12/17 03:31 PM
Hello again,
I will be starting a gardening series soon....but you might want to check this out soon, before you order seeds and plants and trees, etc.
We all know that the catalog companies and nurseries have their own “special” lingo to lure us in, much as realtors, brokers, and mortgage folks do.

That said, here is something for you to check out to determine what might be right for your spot in the garden.

Here you go:

New Introduction!         Another nursery went out of business and we got these for a song!

Multiples Quickly          Plant it in a bed by itself, and even then it will … (10 comments)

rons rustic birdhouses: Saturday in the Park --- Luce Line Orchard Arts and Crafts Fair - 09/15/14 07:09 AM
Saturday in the Park --- Luce Line Orchard Arts and Crafts Fair

What a beautiful day for an event like this at Luce Line Orchard!

We had great weather and the sky was blue, the crowds were there, and everyone had a great day.  Even, an egret!  Can you spot him in the photo below in the pond in front of the grape vines???

There was food, fun and festivities all around.  The craftspeople were excellent.  There were hay rides, a corn maze, great photo opportunities and friendly people with LOTS of apples.

rons rustic birdhouses: Ron’s Rustic Birdhouses Presents….the Crate Table - 09/03/14 12:13 AM
Ron’s Rustic Birdhouses Presents….the Crate Table

I happened upon this crate on the curb set out for the garbage truck, for goodness sake.

Who would throw a great crate with rope handles in the trash????

At any rate, I cleaned it up a bit, turned it over and put legs under it.  One leg has holes in the side so it looks even more rustic…

I polyurethaned the whole thing, and Chief Cook wants to keep it….NOPE!

It will be up at the shop tomorrow,  if I can get her to quite thinking of … (22 comments)

rons rustic birdhouses: Ron's Rustic Birdhouses Presents The Shuttter Potting Bench! - 06/10/14 09:44 AM
Here’s a BIfecta….I don’t know if the word exists either….but here’s the deal.

I delivered the latest potting bench to Urban Retreat in St. Louis Park…which is a day spa…and a pretty nice one, I might add.

And, they immediately asked for another which I have finished this afternoon.

So, here is Ron’s Rustic Birdhouses latest potting bench.  There are four at the spa with many other pieces I have made.  The potting benches are used by the clinicians for their supplies:  acupuncture needles, candles, towels, etc.

So here is the long view….

rons rustic birdhouses: Ron's Rustic Birdhouses Presents The May 2014 Garden Bench! - 05/17/14 06:10 AM
Here are some photos of the new garden bench I made.  It is a smaller version of one I sold to a local couple last year.  It has the same “birdhouses” on the posts as last years.

I found some great old patinaed copper stars to put on the front.  They add a little pizzazz, don’t you think?

Here is the front view.

And, here is a side view.

It is hard to keep Felknapp, our dog out of the photos, because when he knows we are taking pictures, … (16 comments)

rons rustic birdhouses: Ron's Rustic Birdhouses Presents Manuel's Dept. Store and Shoe Repair! - 05/06/14 09:43 PM
I don’t know if you remember the post I wrote a while back about the Clown Arounds group.  This is a group of very talented folks who work and donate their time to great events and causes in our area.

Their “Ring Leader” is Pricilla Moosebuger, aka Patricia Manuel.  Patrica’s parents ran a department store in Maple Lake for over 50 years knows as Manuel’s Department Store and Shoe Repair.

After reading my article about her group, Patricia asked me if I could come up with something for her mother for Mother’s Day.  Patricia’s father passed away a … (11 comments)

rons rustic birdhouses: Brand New Potting Bench for 2014! It's Cute and Compact! - 03/26/14 06:36 AM
Here is the first potting bench of 2014!  I just completed this one last night.  It is much smaller than some I have made recently.  And, it has an old window in the back so it can be used for a potting bench, mini-bar, you name it.

This is the detail of the top.  Notice you can place hanging baskets there while working on them or just use them for décor.

You can use these old insulators to hang tools or barbecue paraphernalia.  Hope you like it!  … (16 comments)
