Dear Partners:
 
Together, we have helped many qualified families become homeowners by issuing over 2 million dollars in down payment assistance in Fiscal Year 2009-10.  Consequently, the funds for Fiscal Year 09/10 have been committed. With continued support for the Down Payment Assistance Program, the City anticipates new funding for the program at the beginning of the fiscal year.
Effective immediately, the Austin Housing Finance Corporation will not be accepting Down Payment Assistance applications until the Fall of 2010.

The much anticipated TDHCA Bond 77 down payment assistance program in Texas was just released by the Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs.  This is specially targetted for first time home buyers in Texas, to augment and replace previous bond programs.

This previous Monday evening, May 17th, I attended the "Regulating Plan Kickoff Meeting"for the East Riverside Corridor Master Plan.  I wanted to take some time to spread the news around about what is in the works.  As I sift through the "Vision Statement", wonderfully written by the way, I take note of some interesting improvements:
