Another Portland home staging success story!
Skinny Homes in Portland became popular a few years ago when developers were granted permission to build on lots that were smaller than the standard 50 x 100 ft. These homes were usually infill in established older neighborhoods, like this example that Room Solutions Staging was hired to stage recently. The builder told me that "buyers just can't imagine how to use the open space in the living - dining - and kitchen area."

We've seen the compelling evidence that proves that excellent photos can significantly improve a home's appeal in the online photos. Since so many of today's buyers are previewing homes online it only makes sense to have the best photos possible. Sellers and listing agents who hire a professional photographer are smart and savvy -- a true professional can enhance the home with photos by using a wide-angle lens that shows the architectural features of the home, not just a corner with two windows (which is what we often see in the MLS photos, unfortunately).

This modest home in Beaverton, OR was staged by our team one recent Saturday. The owner had moved out of state and the home had been a rental for a couple of years. His listing agent contacted me for a home staging proposal after the home was freshly painted and new carpeting was installed. There were several homes in this development with the same floorplan already on the market, but they weren't professionally staged. Just last month, we staged an upscale foreclosed home in Beaverton Oregon because the bank wanted it to appeal to the target buyer. My previous post about it mentioned that this home was built in 2006 and was on the market as a vacant property for nearly 3 YEARS!
