home stagers portland oregon: Staging Makes a Large Portland Home more Appealing to Buyers - 09/29/12 05:53 AM
Our Portland home staging company recently staged a large home (over 6,000 sq ft) to make it more appealing to potential buyers.  When buyers walk into a big, empty house it's hard for them to see themselves living there, and large spaces can be confusing.  Their questions usually include "What's the purpose of this room?" and "How will we place furniture in this space?"
In the previous online photos, the house looked OK, but nothing grabbed your attention.  Take a look:

home stagers portland oregon: This Portland Home was Lived in by One Family for 50 Years ... Staging it was an Honor - 04/06/12 02:55 PM
We recently staged a 1962 home in Portland Oregon that has been owned and lived in by one family for 50 years!  When the heirs decided to sell the property, their listing agent suggested that home staging would help buyers imagine themselves living in this home.  Walls were painted and new carpeting was added, but no major remodeling was done.  When the family hired our home staging company for this project, I could see the potential here, but knew we'd have to "show" buyers that this home was worth a second look.  It's located in one of Portland's best school districts … (32 comments)

home stagers portland oregon: Real Estate Sign Riders: Yes or No? - 10/01/11 11:11 AM

You can drive down almost any residential street in your town and you'll see 'For Sale' signs ~ sometimes multiple signs on the same street.  Since I'm a real estate stager in Portland OR I'm often visiting homes in many neighborhoods to meet a potential homeowner or Realtor client.  I'm curious about some of the sign riders attached to 'For Sale' signs and want to ask the Realtor community:
DO THESE SIGNS REALLY HELP TO PROMOTE A PROPERTY?   ARE THEY A POSITIVE REFLECTION?
This sign rider seems to imply that the outside of the house isn't gorgeous is UGLY:

home stagers portland oregon: Home Staging Tip: Simple "Tweaks" Can Make a Big Difference in how Buyers Feel About Your Home - 07/08/11 10:00 PM
From previewing the online photos to an in-person viewing, buyers are making judgments about your home ~ everything from whether they can see themselves living in it -- to whether it's well-cared for, clean, and big enough for their needs.  We recently staged an occupied home in Beaverton Oregon that had been on the market for several months but had no offers.  The sellers selected a new listing agent, and also agreed to stage the home to make it more appealing to their target buyer.
This home was already decorated very nicely, had great paint colors and was immaculate ... however, … (49 comments)

Enchanted Portland Home is Staged ~ and has a full price offer in 2 Days (Before & Afters)
This very cute & charming English-style home was recently staged by our Portland home staging company with great results!  With an active family that included kids & pets, the sellers recognized that staging would make this home more appealing to today's demanding buyers.  First, we provided the sellers with a list of cosmetic fixes that needed to be completed to make it "move in ready."   We recommended painting, refinishing the hardwood floors, changing out a few light fixtures, and other easy fixes.  … (36 comments)

home stagers portland oregon: Home Staging in Portland OR ~ Your Master Bedroom - 12/09/10 07:22 PM
Home staging offers Portland homeowners and their Realtors multiple benefits, including the advantage of presenting your home to potential buyers as warm, inviting, move-in ready, and irresistible!
Once your home is on the market, buyers have the opportunity to "preview" it via the online Multiple Listing Service photos.  Who has time these days to go view every single property in their price range?  More likely, buyers make their "must see" list based on location, price, and condition.
With help from a professional home stager, your property is more likely to sell faster than others in your market area.  Our home … (21 comments)

home stagers portland oregon: Staging a 100-yr old historic home in Portland OR (Before & Afters) - 09/04/10 07:26 AM
Our Portland OR home staging company was recently selected to stage a 100-year old historic landmark home.  Situated on a double corner lot, this home has a commanding presence when viewed from the street.

The seller had moved out and wanted to ensure that the staging would compliment the house.  He asked if we recommended staging it with antiques so I explained that since the target buyer was a younger couple or family, likely they'd have more transitional furniture; but added that we'd bring in some traditional accessory items that would complement the vintage style of this lovely home.

home stagers portland oregon: No Wonder we get Hungry (and Thirsty) when Staging a Home! - 08/28/10 09:13 PM

The mystery may be solved .... I've been wondering why I get so hungry (and thirsty) while I'm staging a home in Portland Oregon, especially when I'm in the kitchen.
But with all of these temptations lying around, it's NO WONDER ...

No wonder I'm always famished when I finish a staging job!  When you've finished a project, do you rush home too for a bite to eat?
