homes for sale in pearland: Just listed in Pearland - nice four-bedroom at 4016 Hazelwood Drive - 06/17/14 12:39 PM
Inventory is low all over the Pearland/Friendswood area, but lucky for you, I have just listed a great home in the heart of Pearland!

This super-nice four-bedroom home is located at 4016 Hazelwood Drive in the Westwood Village subdivision in Pearland. It features a big kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a large den with fireplace, formal dining and living rooms, nice-size bedrooms with very large walk-in closets. The master bath has double sinks, a jetted whirlpool tub, separate shower and a very large closet.

The HUGE cul-de-sac backyard has no back neighbors! There is plenty of room for a … (5 comments)

homes for sale in pearland: It's not raining cats and dogs outside....it's raining Realtors! - 08/29/13 08:22 AM
I have gotten several buyers and sellers from Active Rain, and they usually find me by searching on the internet for something  specific about the areas I work in, or the neighborhoods I list and sell in most often.

But the most unusual way someone has found me on Active Rain occurred on a rainy day in Pearland.

My clients were meeting with family members at a restaurant to discuss the sale of their family home. They had not yet found a Realtor to represent them, and really didn't know how to go about finding one.

homes for sale in pearland: Time is of the essence - in more ways than one! - 05/16/13 03:34 AM

“Time is of the essence.” I must have heard those five words a million times when I took my real estate education courses.  Agents must pay strict attention to contract deadlines, or the results could be disastrous for their clients.

In today’s hot real estate market, time is of the essence in other ways as well. Here in the Houston area, homes are flying off of the shelves. When you find a home you like, you had better make an offer right away, or it might be gone the next day.

If a house is in good condition, … (33 comments)

homes for sale in pearland: Buyers Beware! Don’t call the listing agent for a showing on a home! - 06/02/12 03:18 PM
I have talked with countless buyers who call wanting me to show them one of my listings. When I ask them if they are working with a Realtor, many times they will say, “No, we are just looking on our own.”

Big mistake! You should never try to go it alone when buying a home!

When you call the agent whose name is on the “For Sale” sign in the yard, you must remember that this agent represents the seller. It is this agent’s job to sell that house for the highest possible price. The listing agent is not … (8 comments)

homes for sale in pearland: Granite Countertops – Everybody Wants Them! - 03/28/12 07:18 AM
There are many different opinions on the most important things a seller can do to help their home sell quickly. Of course, price is of huge importance, and so is de-cluttering and staging. But if a seller is willing to spend a little money on updates to help get their home sold, my suggestion would be to update the kitchen with granite countertops.

Almost every buyer I have worked with wants granite in the kitchen. They can live without granite in the bathrooms, but it’s one of the first things they look for in the kitchen. I don’t think I … (7 comments)

homes for sale in pearland: Wordless Wednesday - Where did HE come from? - 03/01/11 05:36 PM
Zsa Zsa and Leo hate each other. They don't even like to be in the same room together. So when I found them both on the back of the couch, looking out the window, I had to take a picture!

I don't know how they ended up so close to each other, but it didn't last long. Zsa-Zsa gave Leo the evil eye for a few minutes and then ran off to another room. She isn't looking too happy in this picture!

homes for sale in pearland: Remembering How the Housing Market Improved Under Ronald Reagan - 02/06/11 04:13 AM
Today would have been Ronald Reagan's 100th birthday. Reagan was my favorite president. I think one of the reasons I liked him so much is because he came in after Jimmy Carter's painful stewardship of the presidency. Those of you who are old enough to remember Carter might remember gas rationing, very high interest rates, a terrible housing market, being asked to save energy by not using Christmas lights, and of course the Iran hostage crisis. I will give the Carters credit for doing their part to conserve energy in the White House. They kept the thermostat very low and wore … (4 comments)

homes for sale in pearland: February is a good month to... - 02/05/11 04:35 AM
February is a good month to...
Organize Your Pantry  -- When I checked some of the canned goods in my pantry, I was shocked to find so many outdated cans. Some were three years out of date! Into the trash they went! With the winter storms keeping so many people inside, you might as well use this time to make sure all of the non-perishables in your pantry aren't starting to perish!
Plan a Cook-Off Party  --  Everyone likes to enjoy a hot bowl of chili on a cold Sunday afternoon, so why not invite friends over for a chili cook-off? Everyone … (8 comments)

homes for sale in pearland: I hope I can take pictures of my listings, blanketed in SNOW! - 02/03/11 02:44 PM
Here in Houston the weatherman has predicted an 80 percent chance of snow tonight and tomorrow morning. Well, it's mighty cold outside, but no snow yet. I am thinking the weatherman was overly enthusiastic about the possibility. I hope it does snow, however, because I am looking forward to taking pictures of my listings with snow-covered rooftops and yards. It will be a little something different to show potential buyers since it almost never snows here. Those pictures would even make nice gifts for the new owners. That way, even if it doesn't snow in the Houston area for another ten years, … (7 comments)

The next luncheon will be on March 17. Networking and shopping will begin at 10:30 and lunch will be served at 11:30. The cost for lunch is $16, payable at the door.

homes for sale in pearland: Did you pay too much for your home? - 01/24/11 02:10 PM
Lately I have had several homeowners contact me about selling their homes. Some were in a situation where they paid too much for their homes just a few years ago, and will likely lose money when they sell. There are several situations when a homebuyer may have paid too much, but here is what I run into most often:
You bought it without the assistance of a Realtor. If you bought your house from a friend or relative who had the house priced at what he thought was a good price, you may have paid too much. A Realtor can help … (5 comments)

homes for sale in pearland: Playing Keepsies! Memories of Simpler Times - 01/19/11 02:30 PM
Draw a circle in the dirt - about two-feet in diameter. You sit on one side and your opponent sits on the other side. Reach in your pocket and take out five of your aggies - the clear ones with thin slivers of color within. These are the ordinary marbles you are willing to lose. Your opponent does the same, but among his five marbles is an allie - it's a milky white one with blue streaks of color. That's the one you want. A second dip into your pocket produces your prize shooter....The fun begins - and we're playing keepsies!

homes for sale in pearland: Selling Your House - Information You Will Need to Provide to Your Realtor - 01/17/11 08:43 AM
If you are thinking about putting your house up for sale, but don't know where to start, there are some documents and information you need to gather up ahead of time. If you have this information available before meeting with a Realtor to discuss listing your home, the listing appointment will be more productive. Here is what you need to gather up:
Current mortgage payoff, loan number, contact information for the mortgage company Current payoff information for any home improvement loans or home equity loans Information about your purchase of the home - did you buy it new? Name of builder, … (2 comments)

homes for sale in pearland: Leases Can Lead to Better Things - 01/16/11 05:29 PM
Lately I have had several clients looking for homes to rent. I don't mind working leases at all, because they are nice to fill in the gaps between closings. Besides, most renters will be buyers eventually, so it's good to have them in the pipeline.
Rental properties in the Houston area are hot right now. It seems the good ones stay on the market for just a couple of days before there are multiple lease applications submitted.
About a week ago, a former student of mine called, asking for help in finding a lease house. I told her I would be … (7 comments)
