amerititle: Things to do in Silverton, Or - Week of July 31-Aug 7, 2012 - 08/01/12 04:08 AM
Homer Davenport Days are here again! This weekend, Silverton celebrates Homer Davenport, an internationally renowned political cartoonist. I have a greater appreciation of the meaning behind this event and the man we celebrate after reading his coming of age memoir, The Country Boy. Highly recommended reading for any Silverton or Willamette Valley resident.
I've always enjoyed this week-end because it becomes a class / family / friend reunion where our townspeople, past and present gather together. And, somehow I've been roped into pushing a Davenport on wheels down Main Street. See you in Silverton!

amerititle: How much does $200k buy... - 02/15/12 03:02 AM

Getting back to the basics of marketing is a great approach in today's market.  Postcard and email campaigns are making a come back as effective forms of marketing.
We're seeing a big resurgence in requests for targeted prospecting lists for use in postcard and letter mailings.  After a bit of a hiatus, people are putting this back into their mix of marketing tools.
What we have NOT seen are the requests for lists of 1,000's of people.  Thank goodness because this was never really a good approach.  (In my opinion...)  For best results, get extremely targeted with your list.   … (1 comments)

amerititle: How to NOT be an idiot on Pinterest - 5 facts, 5 do's & 5 don'ts - 02/06/12 04:32 AM
I admit, I am a Pinterestaholic.  I can clearly see this site as an amazing platform for Real Estate professionals.  I can also clearly see how real estate professionals (along with any other business / brand) could ruin the site.

We teach web presence classes to agents and always preach, "go where the people are."  If you are investing time in growing your footprint on the web, don't talk to empty rooms.   Show up on sites where people are gathered and can find you.
Pinterest is FULL of people and not only is it full of people but … (1 comments)

amerititle: AmeriTitle: Stats Junkie - Multiple Looks at the Year and Beyond - 01/27/12 06:34 AM
Statistics are all very interesting and fun to analyze.  What I am more excited about is my gut feeling this year.  Yes, gut feelings are not always for the analytical type; however our instincts can be more accurate than numbers.

I have the great fortune of roaming our Willamette Valley and I get to talk to a lot of agents and lenders.  There is this overwhelming positive vibe that I have not felt for quite some time.

The good, solid professionals who are in our industry today have found their footing.  A great deal has been learned … (2 comments)

amerititle: The Magic of a Team and 1:43 of Silly Joy - 12/08/11 04:53 AM

For co-workers to feel like family… to become family is truly the way to live life.  Professionals can spend well over 25% of their life at work; strive for that environment to be one that feeds you.  Not only with food on the table but with emotional fulfillment as well.
Trust:  Know that your teammates have your back; never having to question that they’ll follow through on a promise to you or to a client.  They’ll stand up for you and are proud to be your partner.
Collaboration:  Everybody has their own strengths and weaknesses.  Caring for each other … (3 comments)
