escrow: Playing in the Rain ~ Abiqua River, Silverton, OR - 04/19/11 01:17 PM
It has been a wet winter and spring here in Oregon.  People say that we have webbed feet and I'm feeling the web this year for sure.  However, after experiencing the epic summers that we enjoy I find myself with amnesia about the long days of winter and the wet days of spring.  There is nothing like an Oregon summer and I am counting the days and watching the forecast for sunshine.
We had the opportunity to play in the rain this past weekend as we drove out the long and nearly deserted far reaches of North Abiqua to Milk Ranch … (0 comments)

escrow: Video is KING - 04/13/11 04:07 AM
I would like to give a shout out to my friend Don Sturgeon who is a marketing genius.  I started my day off watching his invitation to an open house.  Best I've seen in a long time.  This is true marketing genius.  He stands out, he's having fun, and I have this event on my calendar.  Thanks for making me smile this morning Don.

We're getting the spring tease weather in Silverton so far this month.  We're vacillating between rain, snow, hail, sun, clouds, more hail, and more peeks of sunshine.  It's shining at the moment so I'm dreaming of all the fun Summer events and festivals that people are working hard to plan right now.  All of the community happenings are part of what makes Silverton such a special place to live.  ~

escrow: The Distressed Property Report - 04/01/11 04:01 AM

In a recent survey of many clients throughout the Willamette Valley we discovered an overwhelming cry and plea and need for statistics and trends.  A great deal of concern and interest revolving around distressed properties was expressed as well.

With that said, here is our first installment of a new “stats junkie” series… The Distressed Property Report.  While this report is from January, we will be providing more up to date information going forward.  I still wanted to share this first look with you.  (Because I get excited about stats you know…)

escrow: What makes your community so great? - 02/14/11 09:06 AM

When we think about the communities where we live and work, it is important to think about what makes them a great place to live.  On my list in Silverton are the many small business owners who tirelessly work to provide uinique shops, amazing food, entertainment, recreation and more.  It's not easy being a small business owner and I salute their hard work and dedication.  They are living their passion and sharing it with our community.
Congratulations to Suzie Couraud for her win as the 2010 Silverton Business of the Year.

escrow: We found strength enough to share... - 01/20/11 03:30 AM
There is a certain power in tight-knit communities.  In these areas, people are accustomed to working hard, overcoming obstacles with grace and living each day to the fullest.  Perhaps there is something special about working side by side with your neighbors that builds character and integrity.  And maybe being in well-established communities teaches one to genuinely care for others.
At AmeriTitle, we draw strength from these communities.  After all, they are where we began.  They have taught us about practical intelligence, working tirelessly and really paying attention to the needs of our customers, from lenders and Realtors to builders, developers, farmers, … (3 comments)

escrow: Dissecting a Preliminary Title Report - 11/02/10 01:11 PM

Admittedly, reading preliminary title reports can be a little... dry.  However, there are some very important aspects to your transaction that can be revealed in this report.
Knowing and understanding the different components of a preliminary title report can help you scan through it quickly to look for any red flags.   This will help you communicate with your clients, look like an expert, and keep a transaction progressing along smoothly.
Reviewing this report with your buyers and sellers is good practice to serve your client and also to protect yourself.

escrow: Are you connecting with potential buyers with your marketing words? - 10/23/10 05:07 AM
I have the great fortune to travel the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon, talking to hundreds of Real Estate agents about their business and their marketing. There are some buzz words on the street that I’m hearing over and over and they are “lifestyle marketing” and “fence sitters.” Let’s dive into these words that are coming up so frequently.
Lifestyle Marketing
Lifestyle marketing aligns your listing with a consumer’s aspirations, needs, desires, and values. Think about what that means for a moment. Get inside your potential buyer’s head and heavily promote the lifestyle components of that home, the surrounding area, … (8 comments)
