We can see Rose of Sharon blossoms on the large plant growing near our dining room window. These colorful plants grow well in Kentlands, our home community within the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland. One of problems is that these plants are large for small urban home sites.

The Kentlands Mansion dates back to when Kentlands was a farm and the mansion was the residence of the owner. The Kentlands Mansion is now owned by the City of Gaithersburg and is available for rental for art exhibits, weddings, receptions and meetings. Dolores and I have attended many functions at this location.
Kentlands is now a planned neo-traditional community that is one of the favorite areas for a home purchase by families relocated to the Metro Area of Washington, DC. Gaithersburg is located in the heart of Montgomery County, MD.

There are many clematis vines growing on the white picket fences which are popular in Kentlands, our home community within the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland. It is interesting to photograph the different colors and shapes of clematis flowers.

We always advise prospective home buyers to take walks through the communities that interest them.  You can see so much more by walking than by just a quick drive.  And, you might even have a chance to talk with some of the people in the neighborhood.

National Weather Service Alert
 
A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is in effect for Montgomery County, Maryland until midnight tonight. The primary threat with these storms could include extremely heavy rain, large hail, lightning, and isolated tornadoes. Those with outdoor plans should monitor the skies and be prepared for threatening weather.
 
We do need rain in the area. Let's hope that storm damage is limited. Take care if you must be out and about during severe weather conditions.

Take a photowalk in your home community after it rains and you may be able to capture some interesting photographs of flowers. Some photographers carry a water bottle to spray on flowers but I have never done that.

Hydrangea plants are popular in Kentlands, our home community within the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland. It is interesting to see the different colors of the flowers since the colors are influenced by the soil conditions.
