Clematis is a genus of about 300 species within the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae. Their garden hybrids have been popular among gardeners, beginning with Clematis × jackmanii, a garden standby since 1862; more hybrid cultivars are being produced constantly. This photograph attracted many comments and was shared a number of times when I posted it on Facebook. We have enjoyed the peonies in our home garden. After the blooms have gone, you have a very nice green plant for the remainder of the season.

We have a rainy Sunday afternoon in Maryland and we are at home. I received many positive comments when I posted this photograph in Facebook groups. It was taken in in home garden. Peonies provided the cut flowers for our home for several weeks. The season is over for our peonies and we will have to count on photographs until next year.

During my walks through Kentlands, our home community within the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland, I have seen many Spiderwort plants in bloom. These are small flowers and are available in several colors.
 
Tradescantia is a genus of 75 species of herbaceous perennial wildflowers in the family Commelinaceae, native to the New World from southern Canada to northern Argentina, including the West Indies. Members of the genus are known by the common names Spiderwort or Indian Paint. Wikipedia

Spider Flowers, Cleome, are very popular in the home gardens in Kentlands. And, they are fun to photograph. You may wish to add them to your home garden.

I like to take photowalks through Kentlands, our home community within the City of Gaithersburg in the heart of Montgomery County, Maryland. Kentlands is a planned community and is one of the favorite areas for a home purchase by families relocated to the Metro Area of Washington, DC.
If you follow my blog posts, you know that I often include photographs of flowers found in Kentlands. However, there is much more to see during the neighborhood photowalks.

We currently have a bountiful supply of dahlias in our Kentlands home garden. Some of the benefits for me are that dahlias are very easy to grow and they are very nice for the cut flowers that Chef Dolores likes to have on display in the kitchen.

This photograph was taken in our Kentlands home garden within the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Sedum, a perennial, is a large genus of flowering plants in the family Crassulaceae, members of which are commonly known as stonecrops. They add color to the garden and require a minimum amount of care.

We have gazania flowers in our home garden in Kentlands, a planned community within the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland. These are small flowers that are available in a variety of colors. They do well in planters and require little attention.

This peony was photographed in our Kentlands home garden in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Peonies do grow well in our area. If you plant peonies, keep in mind that these plants need to be supported. The heavy blooms will fall over when the get wet. They bloom in the spring but the plants provide attractive greenery for the summer season
