During early voting in Montgomery County, Maryland, you may register to vote the same day you vote. To register, you must have a valid Maryland driver’s license or MVA issued photo identification and proof of residency. This option is not available on Election Day. October 16 is the registration deadline to be eligible to vote in the November 6 Gubernatorial Election. Online registration and more information is available here. While Election Day is Tuesday, November 6, voters can go to one of 11 Early Voting Centers to cast their ballots. The Activity Center at Bohrer Park is one of them. Early Voting Centers will be open October 25 - November 1 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Chef Dolores talked me into taking her to the Costco store in Gaithersburg, Maryland this afternoon because she wanted me to handle the heavy packages she planned to purchase. We expected to see a large crowd but the checkout lines were the longest I have ever seen. I did have the opportunity to chat with a very personable young lady in line. She wants to get her real estate license to help her husband flip houses. When you are out and about, everybody wants to talk about real estate.

I received a birthday gift certificate from Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Gaithersburg, Maryland and we decided to go there for lunch. I had the Durango Burger and Chef Dolores opted for the Shrimp Tacos. The food was good and our server, Bassanio, make sure that we were pleased with the service.
Our beverage selection was the new Tropicannon Citrus IPA from Heavy Seas and we enjoyed it. Drink responsibly. 7.25% Alc. by Vol.

Chef Dolores wanted to try a new restaurant and we had our Friday evening happy hour at Da Marco, The Italian Place, in Germantown, Maryland. We enjoyed the Margherita Pizza and the Bruschetta Classica. Our beverages were Sangiovese Chianti and Goose IPA.

We usually sit in a booth in the bar area to take advantage of the happy hour prices. Parents of students entering seventh grade are reminded that immunization requirements require students to have one Tdap (Tetanus-diphtheria-attenuated pertussis) and one meningococcal (MCV4) vaccination.
Montgomery County Health and Human Services staff will provide free Tdap and MCV4
vaccinations to incoming seventh-grade students at several locations throughout the county in July and August.   No appointment is necessary.  A parent or designated adult must be present. Please bring a copy of the child’s immunization record to the clinic.

Our out of town guests had a final request before leaving for the train to go home. They had fond memories of a lunch at Gemelli's Italian Market during a previous visit and wanted to go there for lunch and to purchase a sub sandwich to have on the train.
