- 03/21/25 05:55 AM
Book Recommendation: James by Percival Everett I enjoyed reading James (2024), a novel by Percival Everett, and recommend it for your reading list. When Dolores requested this book on the library website, there were over 700 requests for the book. The library has 45 copies. If you were going to choose an author to rewrite The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn from the point of view of Jim/James, it would be difficult to find a better candidate for the job than Percival Everett, the dexterous master of multiple genres whose bitter satire Erasure became the outstanding film American Fiction. Everett’s reframing of Mark Twain’s novel involves a radical perspective

ActiveRain March Challenge: Learning at the Range Patricia Feager and Lew Corcoran are the hosts for the "March 2025 ActiveRain Challenge: Sharing the Gift of Who You Are." The ActiveRain challenge is to share the profound impact someone had on you in shaping you to who you are today. When I was young, my father was a police officer and we had guns in our home. My father taught me the importance of gun safety. My first gun was a single shot .22 rifle and I would practice shooting when we visited our farm. My interests in shooting became much more serious when I was introduced to

- 03/17/25 08:13 AM
What will they see about you on OpenAI? The use of OpenAI to answer questions is now popular. Those interested in learning about you may ask for available business or personal information. You may wish to check to learn what others are seeing about you. For a couple of examples, I asked ChatGPT.com for my business backgound and for a personal profile for my wife, Dolores. The results, without editing, are posted below. The information is not fully accurate or complete but is interesting to see. Roy Kelley, a resident of Gaithersburg, Maryland, has had a distinguished career in real estate and law. He

Guinnness Oatmeal Bread Recipe Chef Dolores used The View from Great Island recipe by Sue Moran for a loaf of Guinness Oatmeal Bread and it was delicious. This is a selection that I will request again. I hope you will give it a try. Click on the link to view and print the recipe. Guinness bread is a quick no knead no yeast bread that goes with all kinds of cozy soups and stews. We love it toasted with marmalade for breakfast. No, it doesn’t taste like beer, in fact all taste testers agreed they wouldn’t have guessed it was made with beer unless
