Resident Input Sought on Prioritizing Key Health Needs
The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will hold in-person public meetings throughout April to seek resident input to prioritize the important health needs identified in the 2023 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). During these events, attendees will receive a brief presentation on the identified needs and then participate in a paper voting process to prioritize them.
Registration is required to attend the meetings and can be completed online via Sign Up Genius or by calling 240-777-4385, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Call to register if language interpretation or other assistance is needed.

The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is promoting another round of the successful Capital Area Solar Switch program in collaboration with Solar United Neighbors, iChoosr and other Capital Area governments including the cities of Rockville, Takoma Park and Bowie. The program's first iteration, which ran from May to August of 2023 in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia, was a resounding success, with almost 2,000 sign-ups across the region.

The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will celebrate April as “Earth Month” with activities and events aimed at taking action and fostering environmental awareness and stewardship across our community.
Throughout April, residents can participate in activities to promote sustainability, conservation and eco-conscious living. From educational workshops to community clean-up events, DEP is working with the community to make a positive impact on the local environment. Earth Month will cap off on April 27 with “GreenFest,” the largest annual environmental festival in the County.

Snapdragon Vietnamese PhoA bowl of Snapdragon Vietnamese Pho was my choice for lunch at home. This is beef flavored noodles soup. You just add water, microwave and your lunch is ready. The advice on the side of the bowl: 'Slurp like nobody's looking.' Chef Dolores usually cuts the noodles to reduce the slurping.
We purchased the 9 bowl package at Costco.

Tractors of all types, antique cars and trucks, live animals, pony rides and hay wagon rides will be among the many activities on Friday and Saturday, April 27-28, when the annual free Gas and Steam Engine Show returns to the Montgomery County Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood.

During its April 1 meeting, the Gaithersburg Mayor and City Council officially appointed Darnell E. Ingram as Gaithersburg’s new full-time City Attorney. Ingram will assume the duties of City Attorney effective May 1. Ingram comes to Gaithersburg after serving in many leadership roles and as a strategic partner within the City of Baltimore.

The City of Gaithersburg was awarded $1,000,000 in direct federal funding for the Russell Avenue Multimodal and Streetscape Improvements project. Funds will update Russell Avenue to better connect Olde Towne Gaithersburg with new mixed-use development, accommodate a future Flash Bus Rapid Transit Route and expanded county transit center, and create a park boulevard to spur economic activity between Odendhal and Montgomery Village Avenues.
