Montgomery County, Maryland Police Offer Motorist and Pedestrian Safety Tips
As of December 10, the Montgomery County Police Department has responded to 23 collisions this year that have resulted in fatalities. Of these 23 fatal collisions, 9 of the fatalities have been pedestrians. Further, between 5:30 p.m. on December 6 and 6:50 a.m. on December 9, police responded to 12 collisions involving pedestrians, two of which were fatal. Based on number of recent collisions that have involved pedestrians, police would like to offer several pedestrian and driver safety tips in order to keep both pedestrians and drivers safe during the winter … (12 comments)

There are 90 rescue dogs that hope you will remember them as you complete your holiday gifts list.
The volunteer dog walkers at the Montgomery County Humane Society need your help by making wish list donations through December 20 in anticipation of a special Holiday with the Shelter Dogs. Preferred items include new blankets, bones (not rawhide), toys, and anything else on the list. On Saturday, Dolores and I attended the annual Holiday Gift Mart at the First Baptist Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This is a large show and much local talent is on display. We were delighted to see Burt Lancaster and his wife Carolyn at one of the exhibits. Burt is a long time real estate professional at RE/MAX Realty Group. Carolyn makes holiday wreaths and decorations that they sell at local craft events.

Dolores and I enjoyed the Holiday Craft Mart at the First Baptist Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The display by Something Earthy Pottery Studio, in Laytonsville, MD was outstanding and Dolores selected two items to purchase and we decided to visit the studio.

Christmas Holiday Decorations in Colonial Williamsburg
We've had a rainy day in Maryland and a good time to catch up on indoor activities. Many of the homes in Kentlands are decorated for the holiday season and it is a very festive time as we look forward to the Kentlands Holiday Party on Saturday.
Dolores' father was in the navy stationed at Pearl Harbor on that day that forever changed so many lives. We always take time to remember those that have served our country and have protected our freedon.

Holiday Decorations in Colonial Williamsburg
If you want to treat yourself to a special experience, visit Colonial Williamsburg during the holiday season. Dolores and I enjoy seeing the decorations that are all made from natural materials. Do not expect to see all that is offered in one visit. It takes several visits for most to really get familiar with the area and the wonderful programs that are offered.

The 3.5 mile drive through the enchanted setting of Seneca Creek State Park takes you past more than 380 illuminated displays and 60 animated vignettes that light up the night. Themed areas include Winter Woods, Teddy Bear Land, Victorian Village, the North Pole, and much more. The park is located at 11950 Clopper Road, just a few miles west of the intersection with I-270.
Winter Lights really comes alive when you experience the festival through special holographic viewing glasses. They cost just $2 per pair. Please note that the glasses are suitable for passengers only, not the driver.
