Your help has provided a new ActiveRain Milestone for me This week marked a new ActiveRain Milestone that I reached after years of your help and your constant support. I now have over 2 million points and am ranked at number five in the points totals. Even though I have a feeling of personal accomplishment after over six years of blogging, I feel compelled to remind other members that the points totals are not accurate indicators of the best bloggers or the most professional members. The purpose of the points system is to encourage more activity and the activity will

How the GOP stopped caring about you Don’t worry, this blog is not a political rant. The featured article in today’s Outlook section of The Washington Post is a very interesting essay by Heather Cox Richardson, a professor of history at Boston College and the author of the forthcoming book To Make Men Free: A History of the Republican Party. Regardless of your political beliefs, this essay will provide an excellent historical perspective. You may even want to order the book. Use the following link to read the essay.
