I posted this photograph in a number of Facebook groups today. I would love to have these colors in our home garden. 
 
The peony or paeony is a flowering plant in the genus Paeonia, the only genus in the family Paeoniaceae. Peonies are native to Asia, Europe and Western North America. Scientists differ on the number of species that can be distinguished, ranging from 25 to 40, although the current consensus is 33 known species. Wikipedia

When you visit the National Zoo in Washington, DC, you will see double cables, about forty feet up, running from tower to tower.  If your timing is good, you might see the Orangutans on those cables.  It is fun to watch them and you will want to have your camera in hand.

Did you know that Green Anacondas are one of the largest snakes and can grow to a length of 22 feet?  You might not want to meet a Green Anaconda in the wild but you can see one on exhibit at the National Zoo in Washington, DC.

On Wednesday, Dolores and I visited the Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens in Washington, DC to enjoy the exhibits and the Christmas decorations. Hillwood was the home of Marjorie Merriweather Post and was designed to become a museum to house her collection of French and Russian art. On Saturday, Dolores and I visited Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens in Washington, DC. The current special exhibit, available through January 10, 2016 is Ingenue to Icon: 70 Years of Fashion from the Collection of Marjorie Merriweather Post. We also took a guided tour of the mansion which is decorated for the holidays. We are annual members at Hillwood and always enjoy our visits.
