Irish eyes are smiling as Staten Island St. Patricks Day Parade 2013 prepares to march on St. Patricks Day for the first time in a decade! When St. Patricks Day falls on a Sunday the organizers of the Manhattan parade will not hold the parade, which passes St. Patrick's Cathedral on Fifth Avenue, on a holy day of obligation for the Catholic Church. When this happens the Manhattan St. Patricks Day Parade is then switched to the Saturday before.
