Today we get our first glimpse at what the true cost of the Health Care Reform bill will actually cost America. This morning AT&T gave us the first Billion Dollar Red Flag.  According to their filing with the SEC, AT&T will take a $1 Billion dollar non-cash charge expense recorded against their first quarter 2010 earnings.  So much for the Obama administration's claim that health care reform would have no direct costs until 2014!  "AT&T Inc. As a result of the Financial Crisis/Credit Meltdown/Real Estate Bubble etc., the Federal Government has spent approximately 10% of our countries total GDP annually for nearly 2 years now in an effort to "ease the crisis."  So what have we gotten for our investment?
Currently we are told unemployment is not as bad as it could be, and is possibly easing after last month's statistics.  Despite this reassurance, we have admitted unemployment of nearly 10% which does not count an individual who has been out of work more than the 26 week initial unemployment period nor does it count the roughly 150,000 … (13 comments)

budget deficits: The Facts regarding Jobs Creation, Unemployment Rate, and Federal Deficits - 02/03/10 03:57 AM
Today Wall Street is reacting mildly to the ADP jobs report that shows a better than expected loss of only 22,000 jobs versus expectations of 30,000.  First, let me be clear, the ADP numbers are a guess at best regarding actual jobs created or lost, but the reason behind that is another blog post by itself.  Let's just say reputable economists have learned to take this report rather lightly.
