deer: Baseball Players and Ranches - 11/15/07 11:36 PM
Do any of you know a baseball player, the ones that do it for a living?  I know several, only because I played minor league baseball with them before I was released.  If you happen to know one, find out a little about them and their hobbies in the off-season.  Chances are that they might be a seasoned deer hunter, or a even an avid cattleman. 
With that in mind and with the vast amount of big ranches in South Texas being broke up into smaller more manageable ranches, for the individual to run, there is a need to get the two together.  It is … (1 comments)

deer: Spring and Summer Rains Lead to Big Deer, Will It Affect Ranch Prices? - 11/15/07 01:49 AM
After hunting opening weekend in Webb county along the Rio Grande, there were several bucks harvested that first weekend.  The health of the animals was tremendous.  Many speculated as to if it were the hunters recent use of protein feed in the offseason or the rain that occured during this same time.  Either way if there is a record number of big bucks harvested this year will it directly affect the rising cost of ranches?  My personal feelings is the cost may not increase at the end of hunting season but may justify current escalating prices.
