plymouth mi: How are the schools in Plymouth Michigan - relocating to Plymouth MI - 06/12/19 09:46 AM
Plymouth SchoolsThe children of residents in the City of Plymouth and Plymouth Township go to Plymouth - Canton schools.  I would say that Plymouth - Canton schools are better than state average schools.   Niche.com gives the schools an "A-" rating. Good teachers, and administrators are striving to make the schools better each year.  The high schools also rank very high on the US News school report. You can check out the rankings on many different websites.
In both math and reading proficiency the schools rank in the top 5% of Michigan schools.  The school system does have a STEM program.  The schools prepare … (0 comments)

Moving to Plymouth - Where to Start
Buying a home in Plymouth Michigan, or any city Metro Detroit , can seem daunting and overwhelming.   It is a new city to you.  Well, take a deep breath and let's start from the beginning. Establish priorities. Think about the lifestyle you're looking for, the amount of space you need, the style of home that interests you, how far you want to drive to work, or to family, and anything else that may be important to you.   Write them down and then prioritize them. Of course, it is easy for me to say, but … (0 comments)

plymouth mi: Plymouth MI history - 11/11/10 09:27 PM

Plymouth MI history - Early Plymouth resident were entrepreneurs and inventors.
Did you know Plymouth MI was home of a cigar factory.  George W Springer's cigar factory manufactured a line of cigars including the "Hotel Plymouth", "Hotel Victor", and "The Mail".
William Wherry invented the self setting mole trap.  I myself think William Wherry was one of Plymouth's great inventors because some many people are troubled by moles in their yard.  Wherry's shop was located on Dodge street behind his house which was on main street.
The rail road was instrumental in helping get these products around the country. With out the … (0 comments)

plymouth mi: Plymouth first time home buyer series - 11/03/10 06:21 AM
Plymouth first time home buyer series - how many houses should you look at in one day?  I myself think between 6 and 8 homes is the max you should see. When looking at 6 you can remember the difference between the Plymouth homes.

But I always recommend my first home buyers to keep the listing tickets and make notes on them.  That way you can remember what you like and what you don't like on each home.  My relocation buyers that come into town have it down to an art form.  Many of the Metro Detroit relocation buyers that … (0 comments)

plymouth mi: IRONWOOD GRILL PLYMOUTH RESTAURANTS MICHIGAN - 12/09/09 01:00 PM
I stopped into Ironwood Grill one of downtown Plymouth's newest restaurants.  Just open three weeks it was pretty full at lunch today.

From outside it looked expensive.  I thought it was going to be pricey but it wasn't.  It was a medium ranged priced menu.  They had ribs, salads, burgers, and wood fired pizzas.  I myself just had a burger.  I'm a burger type of guy but my doctor says I should be more of a salad type of guy.  But let's not digress.
They brought out some fresh bread before the meal.  I'm a bread type of … (0 comments)

plymouth mi: Plymouth MI - 12/04/09 11:59 AM
I didn't have a camera with me tonight when we went to downtown Plymouth MI.  It was pretty neat. They had all the Christmas trees in Kellogg Park.   Many of the stores had their buildings decorated.  We were just going down to Kilwin's to get an ice cream cone.  My wife was still full from lunch so she just wanted dessert for dinner.
We stopped and listened to a group caroling in Kellogg Park.  Then went and got an ice cream cone.  That is what is neat about downtown Plymouth MI.  There are people walking around enjoying the downtown area.  … (0 comments)
