One Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) has been donated to the Zimmerman/Livonia Fire District by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) Mdewakanton LIFE Program.The SMSC has donated 733 AEDs since the program began in 2004 and facilitated the low cost purchase of an additional 20 units. The Mdewakanton LIFE Program provides defibrillators to organizations including law enforcement programs, charitable groups, and schools.At least 16 lives have been saved by law enforcement officers and emergency medical personnel using defibrillators donated by the Mdewakanton LIFE Program, according to the SMSC. This home sold within five days of listing, and it should close next Thursday. Thanks to all who wrote in regarding best wishes for selling it. Secretary Shaun Donovan announced $2 billion in Neighborhood Stabilization Program grants to communities and nonprofit housing developers to combat the effects of vacant and abandoned homes. FHA currently prohibits insuring a mortgage on a home owned by the seller for less than 90 days. Can you imagine how this will impact our local communities? It will mean that buyers can fully take advantage of the First Time Home Buyer credits, other credits, and now perhaps afford to get some of the foreclosures before the time period runs out.
