california: The Boys & Girls Club of Greater San Diego Helps Kids Grow - 12.7.2012 - 12/07/12 04:17 PM
Tonight I went and saw a high school production of Peter Pan that one of my neighbors was in. It was a wonderful show; fun, funny and moving. Loved it! I was impressed with the acting, direction and the whole event before, during and after the show.
Kids need opportunities to help them learn, grow and express themselves. Thanks Boys & Girls Club!

It made me think about the importance of giving young people of all ages opportunities to learn and experience difference activities, including the arts. It made me happy to see the students, as relaxed as they … (0 comments)

Flippers can turn this cute little house into a lucrative masterpiece!

Have you seen Bravo TV’s reality show, Flipping Out? Although the show focuses much of its attention on relationship conflicts and the show’s star Jeff Lewis’ love of sarcasm, it does shed some light on the world of flipping houses.
Those that purchase less than perfect homes and invest money into remodeling them to be sold at a profit, are often referred to as Flippers. They search for good deals on fixer upper dwellings and when the price is right, make their purchase. Then they improve … (1 comments)

california: Trust Deed Loans and Other Real Estate Investments - 12.3.2012 - 12/03/12 03:51 PM

One of Arizona's many desert loving residents.

There is more than one way to invest in real estate. The most common thought may be to purchase property that will have a high probability of return. It may be a fixer upper that is then “flipped” for a profit. Perhaps it will be an income producing multi-family apartment complex or a high rise office building with tenants providing a monthly income.
If you have been trying to get in on the purchasing craze, but are lacking funding, you may be a candidate for a private money loan from southern … (0 comments)

Today is the last day of November. It’s hard to believe that December starts tomorrow and we have arrived at the final month of 2012. It has been an interesting year of changes in real estate and beyond.
If you have been following my blog you have noticed my repetitive message that due to the upward shifts in the real estate market, now is the time to buy. An article in The Sacramento Bee suggests that I am not alone. Blackstone, a New York based investment firm that owns the Waldorf Astoria hotel and the Weather Channel has purchased … (0 comments)

Ever seen ABC's Shark Tank?

Have you seen the ABC show Shark Tank? It’s an interesting concept that allows entrepeneurs and inventors to pitch their idea to several self-made successful business people, including Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban.
I have seen the show a few times. I have enjoyed it and learned from it. A recent episode features Bill Lyons, one of San Diego County’s own. Lyons was born in Point Loma, grew up in Coronado and then received his Bachelors Degree from Arizona State University. Now back in San Diego County and a Mission Hills resident and … (1 comments)

california: Southern California Real Estate Market Showing Gains - 11.23.2012 - 11/23/12 07:17 AM
Supply and demand influences every industry, including real estate.

The equation of supply and demand can be seen in all industries, including real estate. As I have been sharing, although still a buyer’s market, property prices are on the rise. Foreclosures are decreasing and more people are seeking to buy. Supply is diminishing. Demand in some areas may be maintaining while in others, it is growing.

Source Capital's blog brings you Arizona and California real estate news.

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and so many other social media sites have our attention. If you are like me, they have a little more attention than they should. However, they are how so many of us are communicating with each other these days. And now we have Google+.
Google is familiar to all of us. That is, all of us who have ever at least glanced at a computer. Although I am quite familiar with Google as an efficient search engine, I am new to my personal … (0 comments)

california: New Home Sales Reach a Two Year High According to US News - 11.9.2012 - 11/09/12 02:24 PM

Buy now before prices rise further. Get that yard for your dog!

We have seen the U.S. real estate market change throughout 2012 and in previous years. The initial fall in our economy and the associated real estate market decline was shocking.
I remember always being told that real estate is the one sure investment. I was taught that property always appreciates. So when the opposite happened, it was completely unexpected and somewhat surreal. It still seems odd due to the ingrained concepts I was given. What has happened wasn’t supposed to ever happen!
The rise in real … (10 comments)

There are all different kinds of loans. Private lender, Source Capital specializes in hard money loans.
Before beginning my work with Arizona and California private money lender, Source Capital, I didn’t know what hard money was. Nor did I know that it can be easier to get a hard money loan than a traditional bank loan in many cases. Regardless of the type of real estate lender you work with, there are laws and mandatory procedures that need to be followed. However, when you step outside the confines of traditional banks and into the less restrictive arena of hard money lending, … (3 comments)

School and home parties add safety and peace of mind to the fun and sweet treats of Halloween.

In just days it will be Halloween. I always look forward to seeing neighborhood children in costumes excited to see a light on at a house, which means… candy! Although this upcoming holiday can be fun, how it is celebrated by families has definitely changed in response to increasing fears about approaching homes of strangers. There used to be more trust in receiving sweets during trick or treating. Things are different, as they are with each new generation.
