Hooray for Hollywood!

Lately, I’ve got Hollywood on the brain! I started producing comedy and music shows in San Diego a little over two years ago. Later this month I will be producing my first comedy show in Los Angeles. Hollywood to be specific.
Although this is new territory for me, I already have an affinity for LA. I have performed stand-up comedy up there several times and have enjoyed different areas of Los Angeles County, as a tourist. I love the excitement of the city.

los angeles: Remembering September 11, 2001 - 9.11.2012 - 09/11/12 01:15 PM

Today is September eleventh. I’ve found myself stopping at different times today to pause and reflect. It’s hard to believe that it has been eleven years since I awoke to the clock radio, confused by what I was hearing. Still groggy, I went into the living room and turned on the TV and couldn’t believe what I was seeing and hearing. It was 9/11/2001.

This morning, over a decade later, I walked the dogs of a firefighter while he was at work. Afterwards I sent him a text to share my gratitude. I was glad that I was … (0 comments)

Sometimes redirection is needed in order to reach the preferred destination.

What is on my mind right now is that sometimes things in our life don’t go as planned and we have to reevaluate and change our course of direction. We may feel disappointment when this happens, which is most likely because our initial expectations aren’t met.
I am the main organizer for the San Diego Theatre & Performing Arts Meetup group. I just took over this role in February of this year. I am going to share with you a success and a failure in relation to this … (2 comments)

When I first met loan experts Sacha Ferrandi and Pat Hook of Source Capital I was naive to the world of trust deed loan investments and hard money loans. That was back in January of this year. Since then, thanks to Sacha, Pat and my experiences with Source Capital I have become educated about the world of private lending and real estate investments.
Why Source Capital? Here are just some of the reasons.

An Iliad at La Jolla Playhouse through September 9.

Tonight I went to see an amazing show at the La Jolla Playhouse called An Iliad. Although it is referred to as a one man show, there are actually two characters; the Poet and the Musician.
The Poet is the main character. He is an engaging storyteller that takes the audience on a tour of the major wars in history with a focus on both the factual and mythical aspects of the Trojan war. The Musician whose main voice is his instrument, the double bass, also known as the … (1 comments)

los angeles: California Theatres and Entertainment Venues for Sale - 8.20.2012 - 08/20/12 10:06 AM

Usually when I think of real estate, I think of houses or empty lots to build on. Even when I think of commercial or investment property, I have a vision of office buildings or multiple family apartment complexes. But real estate comes in all forms!
A local playwright I know has been looking for rehearsal space for his upcoming play. That got me thinking how cool it would be to own a theatre! I love both film and stage, so any type of theatre would be fun for me! It would be great to have the space available to … (0 comments)

los angeles: California Real Estate Sales On the Rise - 8.17.2012 - 08/17/12 05:35 PM
al
California real estate sales on the rise.

Wooh! We are back to Friday once again. I am looking forward to the weekend. I hope you are too. I have mentioned before about the fact that nobody knows how long the real estate market will favor buyers as it has been now for years. There is beginning to be more reports that property sales are increasing. This, of course is great for the economy. But as the demand for real estate increases and the supply lessens, prices will be driven higher.

los angeles: TV Writer's La Jolla Estate for Sale for $27.3 Million - 8.16.2012 - 08/16/12 06:52 AM
Just one of the many happy La Jolla residents.

La Jolla is a beautiful southern California location. Known for the scenic drive along the water complete with various ocean loving birds and bathing sea lions. The latter of which has created controversy at times, it is also known for high end real estate.
Some people reading this may live in La Jolla. I do not. Because I don’t live there nor do I own an expensive home, it can be fun to drive around the area to admire these gorgeous properties. Currently there is one such piece of real estate … (1 comments)

los angeles: California's Million Dollar Home Sales on the Rise - 8.13.2012 - 08/13/12 10:51 AM

I have a new appreciation for ice.

Welcome to another Monday and another day of this unfathomable heat wave! If you are in San Diego, Los Angeles or elsewhere in California, you have most certainly been faced with the challenge of staying cool the last several days. Other western states, including Arizona has been plagued with scorching triple digit temperatures too.  Personally, I am favoring the air conditioned indoors to any outdoor option. However, many have been trekking to the cooler beach areas, lured by the thought of taking a refreshing dip. Of course, since the Discovery Channel’s all … (2 comments)
