ga: Quarterly Sales Comparisons for St. Simons Island in Southeast GA - 07/13/09 05:23 AM
With the 2nd Quarter 2009 recently ending, I have come up with the following comparisons from our local Glynn County MLS system for single family home sales on St. Simons Island, GA as follows:
For the 2nd Quarter, there were 35 sold transactions recorded in our local MLS system with an average asking price of $499,312.  The average sold price for those 35 sales was $452,712 or approximately 91% to list.
At the end of 1st Quarter 2009, there were only 12 recorded single family sold transactions with an average asking price of $493,082 and average sales price of $432,825.   To compare … (0 comments)

With the holidays right around the corner, I'm sure everyone is thinking towards their preparations.  I personally am chomping at the bit to get started on putting up the Christmas lights and decorations.  I recently added another person to assist me and I'm afraid we may be in league with each other to see just how far we can go with the holiday décor without crossing over to tacky.

It seems an article or letters to the editor concerning the planned new hotels & restaurants specifically on the beach side of Jekyll are a weekly if not daily occurrence in our local newspaper.  The Jekyll Island Authority, it appears, has made some concessions & incentives to a developer who plans to completely rebuild more modern & luxurious hotel options for Jekyll's guests.  Many residents seem to suspect some so called sweetheart deal was made … (1 comments)
