I received an email today rambling on about the number of foreclosures that are anticipated to hit the market 'shortly' and in these reamblings a statement was made on how we can make a 'killing'. I truely take offence to this sort of comment - no wonder the public look at us Realtors as vultures. How on earth can working hard for your money, spending hours and hours on the telephone, doing research, counselling sellers and much more be construed as 'making a killing', when it finally gets to the closing table - IF it gets to the closing table. We had been working on a very very viable shortsale for close to 6 months and had managed to stop the forclosure process for a couple of weeks while the bank determined whether the offer was acceptable or not. Two days before the property was due to go to foreclosure again we phoned in to the negotiator asking her to stop the foreclosure once again as they were looking at an offer and we were awaiting final word from them. To our surprise we were informed that she 'would not' stop the foreclosure as she did not have an estimated hud. … (2 comments)
