ethics and real estate: It's an Ethics Violation....Now Follow thru and Report it !

There are two sides to every story...more than one view of a blog....more than one legal opinion..." a right" way to do things....and yet....in our own industry....how often do these violations.....real or imagined....go unpunished ? Our guess is MOST OF THE TIME. Why ? Because it takes time....to write a complaint...to submit it to the local board, to gather information, witnesses and affidavits.....and in the end....what happens to the "violator" ? What CAN happen.....is that a license can be suspended or revoked....IF the violator is found guilty. "Practicing outside your area of expertise".....this would include agents without Short (16 comments)
- Did not do a Net Sheetand show the Sellers the Proceeds from the sale of their home when they took the listing – Where are your ethics ?
- Listed a home “to get the listing” when the price had no relationship to comparable homes in the market - Where are your ethics ?
- Did not suggest/do a price reduction when the market began and continued to decline giving the Sellers false hope that “their house” would somehow be different (14 comments)
