This has been an exceptionally strange year in the weather department in southeastern Wisconsin and we understand in many parts of the country. February days in the 60's followed by March days in the teens...You ....and the poor spring flowers that get begin to poke their leaves out....are all confused as to whether Spring is really here...or we have new seasons of Spinter and Wring...one day of warm...another that might see snowflakes.

National Chili Day...Mmmmmm...David believes Chili is one of the "basic food groups" during Wisconsin winters...and there are ohhh soooo many ways to spice it up...make it vegetarian...add the meat of your choice...top with Wisconsin cheese...add a dollop of sour cream....macaroni if you please,,,,bean varieties....a little celery crunch....You might know that Matty's chef has recipes all their very own and today would be the day to try them !

If the weather people are correct in their forecasts....tomottow will be our first snowfall of the season...inches here and there ... traditionally more closer to Lake Michigan.
When we hear those inches of fluffy or sticky white stuff in the forecast...we head to the store..Often Woodman's which has an outstanding selection of produce all year long.
So many choices..and such great looking ones...and better yet...great tasting ones...it is hard to choose just which ones will become ingredients for the recipes we select.

How we LOVE those "happily ever after" endings....and the closing on this cute home with HUGE backyard...in Oconomowoc for our buyer is just the start for her...She fell in love with the front porch...and Victorian flavored decorating throughout the house.

It is a crazy busy time in real estate in southeastern Wisconsin and we are loving the flurry of activity ...make that HUGE Storm that has us flying throughout a variety of counties both listing and selling properties. For us, the more there IS to do....the more that gets done...both personally and professionally. Our "Social Saturdays" and "Tacho/Nacco" Tuesdays are booked for weeks ahead as well.
The phone rang as it has very frequently....and a voice unknown to me asked "Is this the Realtor who sleeps with her Cell Phone ?"

Sometimes there are conditions in a home that a Seller cannot afford to or does not address. This is especially true of course in short sales where money is beyond short supply. In can also be the situation when there is an estate and any expense requires "decision by committee" which is never a good thing. It can be something relatively simple like painting walls ....or maybe more expensive like replacing flooring....updating a room which may consider a variety of tastes and twists....sooooo many choices.

Yahoo...open the email box with an invitation waiting for us to take a listing.....another 2 files with pictures of the home...neat...uncluttered, well decorated, great way to start the day....AND they want to buy one of our listings...WOW....this is the best breakfast I ever had...beats Wheaties....eggs benedict....blueberry pancakes...and even a wash of Mimosa....how lucky are we ! It seems that we always have sellers who are single or elderly and don't spend a lot of time in the kitchen when it means cooking for one or two people...seems like too much trouble. This week we have sellers and a future seller who have just completed hospital stays...and not quite feeling up to a lot of food preparation.

We were on a listing appointment the other day...and the gentleman seller had a nice home in a great location. He no longer wanted to deal with winter in the midwest and spent time in warmer climates. Summers here did not require the size home he had and maintaining it year 'round. His financial picture did not require him to sell the house....and much like many other sellers, he had a number in mind that he felt it was "worth." “HURRY ! Buy Now Before We List with a Realtor !”
Sounds like a fate worse than ________. And but of course, if a realtor is involved, the price has to go up….the price the seller has to net will have to take into consideration what the commission will be on the sale and the net profit will have to remain the same…of course.
After all, the seller should be able to choose the price that their own house sells for…they paid the mortgage, made improvements, did the updates, … (5 comments)
