Ariel Foundation Park in Mount Vernon, Ohio is an amazing place that features so many incredible amenities. This video is a highlight of the Rastin Observation Tower at Ariel Foundation Park. Previously known as the PPG smokestack as a critical part of their glass manufacturing center, this massive chimney has gained a new life with a custom fabricated wrap around staircase. The Kokosing Gap Trail is one of America's most successful rails to trail bike and walking path. The trail is finished with a solid surface and is entirely asphalt starting from Mount Vernon Ohio and runs all the way to Danville Ohio. The Kokosing Gap Trail is ideal for walking, jogging, running, biking and it is so smooth that roller blading is a breeze.

Tonight is the annual fireworks display in Mount Vernon, Ohio. The fireworks will be most easily viewed from the Mount Vernon Avenue area near Memorial Park and by the Mount Vernon High School and sports field. The fireworks are launched near the Kokosing Gap Trail and the city has closed the bike path parking lot and they also close Cougar Drive where the RC airplane park is located. Located about 4 miles east of Mount Vernon on the edge of Gambier just off of state route 229 east on Laymon Road. Part of the Environmental Center actually adjoins the Kokosing Gap Trail bike and walking path so be sure to bring your walking shoes or bike with you because you can make an afternoon out of it. Mount Vernon, Ohio is filled with wonderful parks that range from sports style parks with ball fields and tennis courts, skate park, parks with play grounds and swing sets, we have a fishing park and also we have a park that is designed just for remote controlled airplanes. Today as part of my "365 Things To Do in Knox County Ohio" I visited the Mount Vernon R.C. Airplane Park on Cougar Drive. This park is located just off of Mount Vernon Avenue between the Kokosing Gap Trail Bike Pathand the Mount Vernon Nazarene University. This steam engine is an "American Locomotive Company" train that was restored for the Kokosing Gap Trail Bike and Walking Path.
