santa clara home property taxes: How is the SALT tax deduction impact home owners in your area?

In California I see there can be an impact on people's willingness to purchase if the local economy turns sour.
A young realtor in our office is concerned she pays $35,500 CA property taxes a year. She told me her PITI together was $13,000 a month which is more for non-executives in Silicon Valley.
What about in your state or area?
Next question is would recommend to pay 2018 tax by December 31? If so why?
