On December 20, 2015, Mesa County was officially "open for business" as part of the application process to participate in the Rural Jump-Start Zone Tax Credit Program designed to grow the economies of rural areas in Colorado.
The announcement was made by Mesa County Commissioners, Colorado Mesa University, Colorado Senator Ray Scott and Rep. Yeulin Willett.

June 2016 Was The Highest Month Of New Home SalesTight inventory and low interest rates has buyers turning to building new homes.  June sales are the highest so far this year with a total of 34 new homes.
Heritage Estates had 4 sales, Brookwillow 3, Chipeta Heights 2, Stagecoach trail had 2.
The average price was $262,606 with the average per square foot cost of $146.58.  The gross volume was $8,928,600.

2014 brought some stability back to our housing market with a steady increase in home prices and a substantially more inventory for buyers to choose from. Price increases are still positive but less brisk than last year. The indicators to watch for in 2015 include days on market, percent of list price received and absorption of inventory as these will provide insight and direction of our housing market.
