Newly listed homes were snapped up by buyers as the housing inventory dwindled. Sales of new construction stayed active all year and averaged 25 homes per month. Grand Junction School District #51 broke ground on a new high school November 17, 2015. The new R-5 High School will be at 22nd St. and Grand Avenue. The school is currently located on 7th and Grand Ave. in a building that over 90 years old. The new building will also include the Opportunity Center that will help meet the needs of District 51 students who learn best in an alternative way.
