sellers: I Can't take it anymore! You are ruining our reputation! Get out of the business! - 02/04/11 07:14 AM
You know the old saying "One Bad Apple"......    Well how about HUNDREDS of Bad Apples???

In the past several months I have found myself frustrated with the behavior of other Realtors!  For lack of a more descriptive word "LAZY" about sums it up.  I am a FULL TIME Realtor who takes pride in what I have been doing for the past 20 years.  This JOB is my ONLY job and I depend on it to pay my bills.
In the troubled economy, and the affects it has had on our industry, you would think that Agents would work harder and … (4 comments)

sellers: Craigslist doesn't work anymore! Any suggestions? - 02/13/10 11:47 PM
About a year or so ago, my husband and I use to place our listings on Craigslist and it was the best lead generator ever.  We managed an office and every day the phones would ring like crazy.  No matter how much our company would spend on newspaper advertising the only calls we got were "Craigslist".  Not to mention the numerous email inquiries.
But like everything in life, society started abusing and misusing it.  Now, all we get every morning are dozens of solicitations for other websites and scams.  WOW, it's really sad how "people" just can't utilize a good thing … (11 comments)

sellers: Our MLS has sold us out! And "Bait and Switch" should come with a jail sentence!! - 02/12/10 10:51 AM
We all know as Realtors, in total honesty, that a seller NEEDS us!  Our jobs are not only to market and get a home sold, but it's also to walk beside the Seller throughout the process and help get them to the closing table with as little stress as possible.
Over the past 20 years I've had sales that would have died had we not been able to walk our clients through an inspection issue or a mortgage problem.  We've actually helped homeowners who had been taken advantage of in the past and thought it would save them money but actually cost … (6 comments)

sellers: EVERYONE IS BLEEDING!! - 01/28/10 10:09 AM

The government's futile efforts to help our housing market definately is not showing up in my day to day experiences.
The banks have NOT been able to rectify their problem areas in "customer service".  One department doesn't know what the other is doing.  Files are getting lost and packages have to be resent. LIVE VOICES are a thing of the past because they will only accept information by email, fax, and or a customer service representative who has limited information.
People who have tried to modify their loans have been met with horrific conclusions to their dilemma's.  After 6 months of waiting for an … (8 comments)

sellers: DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH....don't say it! - 11/14/09 03:18 AM

When describing your listing, be very careful what you say.  Many realtors use common phrases that actually HURT the chances of getting the home viewed.  As we all learned in Real Estate school, over doing it for the area is a no-no.  And when you use the phrase "Diamond in the rough" it indicates that the house is in great condition, but the area is not.  Especially when buyers are aware of another old saying "LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION"!

sellers: My head in spinning! Can someone please explain? - 06/13/09 11:42 AM

Because I just suddenly see things happen without researching the WHYs and HOWs ..........Mostly because I'm just busy carrying on business and don't stop often enough to investigate the changes, here is something I thought you can all explain to me.
Years ago (and still to this day) we, as Realtors, learned that "steering" is not a practice we would want to take on.........we could lose our licenses, and worse, not be looking out for the BEST interest of our clients.
That being said......WHY do I suddenly notice with a LOT of listings the phrase "INTERESTED BUYERS MUST BE PRE … (53 comments)
