If you are in default on your mortgage or at risk of going into default, the sooner you reach out for assistance the better. Many home owners just simply wait until it is too late to ask for help many times because they don't know they have options to short sale and at that point it is near impossible to do anything. At the first sign of trouble a home owner should consult with a Realtor and visit with their lender to explore their options to sell their home.
