Almaden Lake Park & The Los Alamitos Creek Trail in San Jose
Almaden Lake Park is my favorite local place to go to connect with nature and simply enjoy some quiet peaceful downtime. I prefer to visit during times when few people are present. I especially like to visit in the early Spring. I'll hike down into a quiet place near the shoreline and sit on a rock and observe the ducklings and read a book.

Homes for the Holidays - Decorations In My Neighborhood
The only thing "decorated" in my home are the wrapped packages I will be giving as gifts. Other gifts were ordered online and shipped direct to the recipients. I like that most because it saves me from having to go to the post office and wait in the long line.
While I very much enjoy the spirit of Christmas, I do not enjoy the commercialization of it. Okay. I get it. But let's not go there - okay?

Almaden Lake Park is by far my favorite parks in San Jose. The park is transformed for the art and wine festival. It is unrecognizable from the serene setting pictured below.
Sunday, September 14, 2014 will be the 38th Almaden Valley Art & Wine Festival.
The event starts at 10:00am and ends at 6:00pm.
The festival has something for everyone!
No wonder it is voted one of the best festivals in San Jose.

The Blossom Valley real estate market did not realized overall significant change in home prices in July. The number of homes for sale increased significantly. The increase in active listings was visually noticeable by the number of new yard signs in the community and open home signs were everywhere. Homes are still selling for over list price. Is the increase in inventory the start of a shift in the market? I will be watching and tracking Blossom Valley home market trends.

San Jose received an amazing donation from Walter Cottle Lester who died at the age of 88 the day before the opening of the public trail.
It has been reported that developers offered Walter Cottle Lester more than 500 Million for the 237 acres of land. He was certainly one man who was more concerned about legacy than millions.

Lake Almaden Park | My Favorite Park In San Jose CA San Jose has a lot of great parks. Lake Almaden Park is this San Jose Real Estate Agent's favorite San Jose Park.
It has certainly changed a lot over the years. I remember playing in the lake over thirty years ago with my husband. We packed a picnic lunch and his canoe and played at the lake for hours. I have very fond memories of the lake.

I Am Looking For An Almaden REAL-IT-TOOR This almost sounds like the opening line of a joke ... but it's not.
I received a sales call the other day. Another partial scrip-tor who said my name, Kathleen, about every 4th or 5th word.
When he said "I am looking for an Almaden REAL-IT-TOR" I knew in an instant that whatever he was selling, I was not interested.
Turns out he was selling ad space at a local Fitness Club in Blossom Valley. Close, but no cigar.
