There is no disputing the fact (trust me, I know!) that our current real estate market is a difficult one. I've only been in the business since 2003, but I'm told by industry veterans that this is the most difficult that they can remember. dutchess county: $8000 Tax Credit for First Time Homebuyers

There's been a lot of talk about the $8000 Tax Credit for First Time Homebuyers. This is a terrific incentive and actually isn't only for First Time Homebuyers. You just can't have owned a home in the last 3 years. The credit can be claimed on 2008 or 2009 tax returns. Homebuyers who get a loan backed by the Federal Housing Administration can use the money to cover closing costs and other fees.There are some creative tax planning strategies that the buyer can employ as well.

Below is an excerpt from an article in today's Wall Street Journal about Reverse Mortgages. While it's important for seniors to be educated about the product to ensure that it's the right financial tool for them, a reverse mortgage is definitely an option that should be explored, in my opinion.
