arapahoe county: Parker Road & Arapahoe Road Interchange - 11/06/08 09:12 AM
Anyone using Arapahoe Rd. that must cross the Parker Rd. intersection knows what a nightmare this traffic fiasco can be. During the extended “Rush Hours” traffic can back up for miles for those trying to cross Parker Road.
The good news is there is a plan in place to fix the problem! The Arapahoe Road - Parker Road interchange is scheduled for the following improvements.

arapahoe county: Free Prescription Drug Card for Arapahoe County Residents - 07/14/08 06:22 AM

Arapahoe County Colorado residents now have a way to save on the ever-rising costs of perscription drug costs.  On July 3rd the County Commissioners announced the program.
Commissioner Susan Beckman said:
“Using the NACo prescription discount is easy, simply present it at a participating pharmacy.  There is no enrollment fee and no restrictions or limits on frequency of use.  Cardholders and family members may use the card any time their prescriptions ar not covered by insurance.”
The card will save residents 20% off the retail price of commonly prescribed drugs and may be used by all Arapahoe County residents regardless … (0 comments)

arapahoe county: Mortgage Broker Crackdown! - 03/20/08 03:40 AM
Strong Headline!  The Rocky Mountain News published this article, and I needed to comment.
The Colorado State legislature passed a law that went into effect January 1st, 2008, requiring Mortgage Brokers to become licensed by the State.  While most states have required the licensure of Mortgage Brokers for some time, Colorado was a bit behind the curve. 
Since the requirement went into effect (less than 90 days ago) there have been 73 people denied a license, or disciplined by the Colorado Division of Real Estate.  Offenses like Criminally Negligent Homicide, Lewd & Lascivious Acts in the presence of a Child, and Burglary are some of … (2 comments)

Just when I think the Media is too out of touch to save, they surprise me.
A Time Magazine article by Dan Kadlec, in the Right on Your Money section tells us that the sky is not falling!  Wow, how about that, a guy who gets it. 
His premise is when home prices are falling few people have the discipline to use that money to buy other assets, instead they spend it on consumables.  And those who pull the trigger now, will benefit in the long run.  He cites a great example of a very likely scenario;

arapahoe county: South Denver February Market Statistics - 03/10/08 06:30 AM
Here are some recently compiled market stats for February 2008.  My market area is the South Metro Denver cities, including Denver, Centennial, Greenwood Village, Cherry Hills Village, Englewood, Littleton, and Highlands Ranch.  So the stats will be limited to these areas.
Big Picture (Covering the Entire Metro Denver Area)  The figures are for single family residential properties only, and Do NOT include Condos, Land or Commercial data.
Total Closings for the Month: 2342, Down 2.9% from 2007
Average Days on Market: 111, Down 11.2% from 2007
Active Listings: 19,067, Up 4.2%
Average Sold Price: $278,871, Down 4.5%
