Things Buyers Really Want When They Come to Your House Your Realtor has done a great job of marketing your newly listed house. They have sent out Just Listed cards, scheduled Open Houses, Broker Opens, Completed professional pictures, Virtual Tours, etc. Now the phone rings and you hear.... "Hello Ms Smith, This is Suzy Jones and I want to show your house today." Yeah!!!! Here comes the first buyer!!

As a Realtor I always tell sellers the home they live in is not the home they put on the market. If you want cabinets full of collections throughout your home, have great hunting trophies in your living room, and orange is your favorite wall color, knock yourself out. I recently had a tenant living in a home I have listed call me. He was furious because the agent who had just shown his house did not lock the sliding patio doors. I happen to know the tenants personally and know the fastidiously maintain the property and are stickers for locking doors and windows. There is also an alarm system on the house.
My tenant took it upon himself to call the agent and tell her she failed to lock the patio door. At first she apologized but them told him he should put a "sticky note" by the door to remind agents to lock the door. Apparently they got … (11 comments)
