Those of us that live here know that Raleigh has no shortage of wi-fi hotspots and the whole county is wired for the internet. People moving here say things like internet access is essential - well, no problem! Forbes magazine has ranked Raleigh the nations "most wired city". The magazine looked at factors such as broadband penetration and access, and the number of public wi-fi hot spots. Another positive ranking. I've heard people say that the Raleigh Durham area is "recession proof." I'm not sure of that but we certainly are one of the strongest local economies around. Hanley Wood Market Intelligence, a California research firm, has ranked the Raleigh-Cary market first and the Durham-Chapel Hill market sixth on its list of the healthiest markets among the top 100 U.S. housing markets. According to this News and Observer article by David Bracken, Hanley Wood thinks Raleigh will still experience minor price declines. raleigh real estate: Wake County's Outer Loop

I moved to eastern Wake county in 2005 for several reasons, one of which was the completion of 540 and 64 by-pass. Wow, these roads are great. I can live in a country setting and get anywhere in Wake county in around 30 minutes. Anywhere that is except Fuquay-varina, Holly Springs, and the surrounding areas. Well, here is some information explaining how that will eventually change.
