realtor: A Pitt Lake without Ayla Canoe!?
- 12/05/09 06:03 AM
I had just nicely come home from a beautiful morning spent showing some waterfront & water access only property on Pitt Lake when I saw the headline in the Maple Ridge Times newspaper. The Williams family, a fixture of the Pitt Lake area have been running Ayla Canoe on the waterfront, living in and caretaking Grants Narrows Park for decades. Doing a (1 comments)
This is part of a new advertising campaign we will be running in December 2009 in the neighborhoods I work most often. A bit edgy, certainly eye catching and hopefully a bit provocative! No apologies either, what do you do for the money you charge and how well do you do it? Don't do the tired old things others are doing! Be different! (16 comments)

The Pitt Lake Web Cam is located at the Pitt River Lodge which is at the very North end of the real estate at Pitt Lake BC near the upper Pitt River where it flows into the lake on the waterfront. The main part of the Pitt River runs in the trees a few hundred feet away, the mountains in the background on the right are over 2500 feet tall, and on a clear evening you can see the Mamquam Glacier, at 8500 feet tall, near the tall Fir tree on the left. I spotted the "Forks Washington" Police Cruisers in storage, probably near an unidentified set in downtown Maple Ridge earlier this week and have been on the look out for one of the actual sets ever since. If i got my 8 & 10 year old daughters on set of Eclipse I would be the coolest Dad in the World for at least the rest of the year in my girls (2 comments)

realtor: The Worst Part about being a REALTOR®
- 07/13/09 04:55 AM
All careers and professions come with a downside and it should come as no surprise that being a REALTOR® is no exception. We spend weeks, months or years cultivating leads, providing our clients with Real Estate information. We get to know the people closely, driving around discussing homes, their lives, dreams and aspirations. Becoming close with their children, enjoying a little play time with them while Mom & Dad check out the homes. All of this bonding culminates in a hectic crescendo of activity then.... its over. Yes we pop by afterwards to say hi, we make the odd phonecall, we (5 comments)

- 12/30/08 03:22 PM
I was reading a thought provoking Blog post by DJ Swanepoel called The Top Ten Real Estate Movies of All Time and What We Can Learn From Them. In his post he names his top ten Real Estate movies of all time and encourages others to comment and add theirs.
It became quite clear early on in the comments that the most memorable Real Estate Movie, among Realtors, is Glengarry Glen Ross but is it the best Real Estate movie or is is the best Real Estate Agent movie? Glengarry Glen Ross is a 1982 play written by David Mamet. The play (36 comments)
