home inspector: I'm just the home inspector, but you can still be nice to me!

I promise that it is not my fault and I did not do it! Boy, I feel like saying that several times a year when I get that call from the listing agent when the buyer did not buy the home because of what was found during the inspection. As a home inspector we find all types of things that might not be in our area of expertise, but it does not take a rocket scientist to know that it is a problem. home inspector: Is Home Inspector the right name?

I have been performing various types of property inspections since 1994 and I have always wondered if the name Home Inspector really was the correct name for my profession? Home inspections comprise about 50% of my business, the rest are various type of related inspections from bank to commercial types of inspections. I have contemplated with changing what I call myself, some of the following are some names I have been contemplating: Property Consultant; well it sounds good but what does it say that I do?
