Foto Friday:  Just Fishing
One of the pleasures of living near water is the opportunity to go fishing whenever you feel like it.
And in Florida, fishing opportunities are everywhere with 1197 miles of coastline, 663 miles of beaches, and more than 11,000 miles of rivers, streams, and waterways plus many lakes and ponds throughout the state!
Question is, which one of these two will be the lucky one to catch the first fish?

fishing: The Big Catch - Fresh Florida Seafood! - 09/03/12 10:31 AM
The Big Catch - Fresh Florida Seafood My husband and his friend went flat fishing today from Hernando Beach, Florida.  Just like any good fishermen they will not reveal the exact location and it will remain a secret.  His big of catch of the day; however, is not.  Here he is proudly holding his big catch of the day - a Redfish!  It became dinner tonight.

Waterfront living is a lifestyle.  Hernando Beach is a residential boating and fishing community located just North of Tampa on the Gulf of Mexico. From here you may go flat fishing, deep … (17 comments)

Hernando Beach Waterfront Living:  Catch of the Day!
You've heard me say it often enough, Hernando Beach waterfront living offers some great fishing opportunities.  Whether fishing from your own backyard dock, or going out on the Gulf of Mexico with your own boat or charter, you are likely to get your catch of the day!
And if you don't fish, you can enjoy great birdwatching opportunities.  Actually, living in Hernando Beach, you can combine fishing and birding!  See what this lucky guy caught today!  Perched high on a light pole, this Osprey is examining today's catch long enough for me to … (11 comments)

fishing: Fishing in Hernando Beach! - 03/22/09 07:35 AM
As the waters in the canals around Hernando Beach are warming up, the smaller fish are returning and with it lots of birds who are looking for a meal.  This Grey Heron proved successful the other day on our dock having caught a needle fish and preparing it for dinner!

fishing: Hernando County Waterfront Parks: Fishing at Jenkins Creek! - 02/28/09 11:37 AM
Hernando County prides itself to be located on Florida's Nature Coast.
Here, on the West Coast of Florida you will find many opportunities to access the waters either of a crystal clear river like the Weeki Wachee River, some of the many saltwater creeks, or the Gulf of Mexico.

Jenkins Creek is located on Shoal Line Boulevard between Weeki Wachee and Hernando Beach.
It's a popular place especially on weekends.  There is plenty of parking, bathroom facilities are on site.
Boaters have the opportunity to use one of the smaller public boat ramps in the County to launch boats … (0 comments)

fishing: Hernando Beach Area Information: New Bridge at Jenkins Creek - 12/05/06 10:03 AM
Finally the long awaited pedestrian bridge at Jenkins Creek has been installed.  It spans across the creek and connects the Jenkins Creek viewing tower area to the main parking lot in Linda Pedersen Park.
Just recently been installed, the new bridge already enjoys great popularity.  On a warm and balmy December Sunday, fishermen were trying their luck hoping to bring home a fresh catch for dinner while a grey heron was looking on, patiently hoping for a handout.
