Today is the first day of Spring!  The azaleas have been blooming for a while here in the Spring Hill, Florida, area.  This photo was taken while I was showing homes in the Timber Pines community.  My buyers admired the well kept appearance and beauty of the community and I think these azaleas certainly contributed to this impression. 
While watching the news this morning, I saw that not everyone is feeling Spring just yet.  Some of you are still getting the snow.  Hope the weather will get in line with the calendar soon for you as … (21 comments)

Meanwhile in Florida... White as Freshly Fallen Snow
 
No, this is not about one of Florida's beautiful white sugary beaches or a cold front moving in with temperatures dipping below 60 F.  
This is about the blooms on our small plum tree in our backyard. With warmer temperatures moving in, it has covered its branches with small fragrant white flowers that almost look as if the branches were covered in snow. The bees love it! 
And luckily, this is probably the closest we will get to real snow!

As most of the USA is in the grip of winter, even here in Florida, we feel the cold.  In our area in Hernando County, temperatures went down to freezing last night and as the day has progressed haven't reached 50s yet although we are enjoying a beautiful sunny day. 
I took this photo with the flowering bush against some farmland last weekend while driving around in our area and thought I would share with you just a little taste of Spring!

Blooming Spring! English Dogwood
Finally, Spring flowers are popping up everywhere around the country.  Here in Florida, our temperatures have reached the 80s already in the daytime for a few days and the weather is pleasantly warm with a nice breeze. 
Because of our warmer weather, we don't typically get the tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths coming out of the ground in our parts so I am enjoying the photos everyone else is posting.
