It's here! It's Thanksgiving Day and time to reflect on all the things we are thankful for.
Today, I am thankful for all my blessings.
Whether large or small, every day is a gift filled with beautiful things - we just have to look at them with open eyes, minds, and hearts.
We forget sometimes in our every day lives to really appreciate what we have.
It might help to start writing down at the end of each day one or two things that were good about that day - even if it's "just" the weather or a good meal.
It's the week leading up to Thanksgiving Day and time to reflect on all the things we are thankful for. Today, I am thankful to be healthy.
Health is something we take for granted when we have it and miss sorely - literally - when we don't. Never one to get sick a lot, this year, it hit me. I just got over the flu and although not terribly serious, it gave me a few days of misery and low energy. The turkey is unthawing in the refrigerator and I'll be spending some time today getting the house ready for guests and preparing for tomorrow's Thanksgiving meal.
Except for the turkey, dressing and gravy, I don't particularly stick to the "traditional" way Thanksgiving dinner is cooked. Unless someone brings it, you won't find green bean casserole on my table and I'm known to throw in a different dish for an unexpected twist.
