Inspirada, a 2000 acre master planned community, is one of the new home developments in the Las Vegas valley. It is a Focus Group development located in the southern foothills of Henderson.
Inspirada has open streetscapes that offer old city charm. When the project is complete, it will have seven villages with a city center that has restaurants, shops and other commercial amenities. Henderson, Nevada, is just outside of the Las Vegas Strip. There are many events happening throughout Henderson. Free concerts every Thursday night at 8PM at the Henderson Events Plaza Ampitheatre, are a great way to start your weekend. Check here for the Thursday Night Live schedule. You may have caught my last post about the Las Vegas Foreclosures and the call I received on the $40k 4BR, listed on a site often quoted in the media as a leading source. Since then I've had it brought to my attention that it was actually one of the pricier listings, after seeing this "REO" that was included from their search.

henderson: Las Vegas FHA Loan Limits Raised to $400,000

FHA conforming loan limits have just been raised in Clark County to $400,000. This includes Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Summerlin, Henderson, Mesquite, Overton and Boulder City. The previous limits were $304,000 in Clark County. With this increase, it expands the choices available to home buyers in the Las Vegas area. Rain in Las Vegas does not happen too often. We had a storm pass through this past Friday and it rained. Usually, it doesn't last a long time and then the sun returns to dry up all the rain. What happens when the rain has ended and the sun shines? A rainbow, of course!

Yes, there are many secrets of Las Vegas, and that includes homes. I've posted about Dr. Lonnie Hammargren's combined 3 homes that house his unique collection of all things Las Vegas and Nevada, that he calls the Hammargren Home of Nevada History.

henderson: "Don't Squeeze the Charmin"

Dick Wilson, known as Mr. Whipple, died at a young age of 91 this past Monday. He spent 21 years protecting the Charmin toilet paper from crazy housewives who wanted to squeeze it! Read the article in the Review Journal here. He retired in 1985 and was replaced by the cartoon bears. Wilson said the he was still recognized as Mr. Whipple long after he retired. He did come back for a guest appearance in 1999. According to friends and family, he was delightful and funny, until the very end. Something that is unknown to most people about … (13 comments)

So, you live in Las Vegas and you can't get into the holiday spirit because you miss the snow. Well, now you can go play in the snow at the Henderson Winterfest Celebration. It will be a manufactured winter wonderland at the Henderson Events Plaza 200 S. Water St.
There will be winter activities, live entertainment and folk art booths. The events will run from December 6 -9. The Henderson Civic Orchestra will be giving a free performance on December 6 at 7PM.

I have mentioned in my previous blogs about all the activities here in Las Vegas, other than gambling. Now that the swim season is wrapping up with the cooler 70s & 80s here in the valley, it is time to enjoy even more of the outdoors......during the 'Second Spring' of the year.
The River Mountain Trail I've mentioned before, will be approximately 35 miles in length when completed and connect Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, Henderson, Lake Las Vegas and Boulder City. But wait, there's still more......a LOT more.
