The City Of Alexandria To Charge Airbnb Tax
Effective April 1, 2018 the City Of Alexandria will start collecting taxes on Airbnb listings. The city will charge a 6.5% local tax, 2% state tax, and a $1 per night for bookings that are 29 nights or less.
The agreement Alexandria has with Airbnb is a first for Virginia. It comes not long after the city started mandatory registration for anyone doing short-term rentals. DC and Montgomery County Maryland have also made agreements with Airbnb.

I’ve always loved Charleston South Carolina and when I saw a Charleston southern cuisine inspired restaurant was in Del Ray I knew I had to try it. Paul and I visited for a Friday date night and it was exceptional. Live Oak is located on Commonwealth Avenue and is the perfect addition to the charming Del Ray area in Alexandria.

This year for our office holiday outing JeMai and I decided to mix it up a little bit and not just do a happy hour. We booked an Escape Room in Old Town Alexandria for the team and invited one of our wonderful lenders to join us. We didn’t escape in time but, from what they told us there’s only a 30% success rate in the room we were in. They made us feel better letting us know we solved 80% of the clues, we were close!
