While many benefits have been cited as part of a vegetarian diet, the health benefits are

perhaps some of the most immediately noticeable. Here are some of the purported health benefits of a … (6 comments)

Benefits of a Vegetarian Diet
Are you considering becoming a vegetarian? Some people cite ethical reasons for their decision; others embrace vegetarianism for health reasons. Many vegetarians believe that their dietary choices go beyond their immediate families and meal choices. Others just want a better lifestyle for their families.
Nearly all vegetarians can cite benefits to their diet of some sort. Here are some of the purported benefits of a vegetarian diet.

food blogs: What Not to do With 200 Year-Old Champagne - 05/12/11 05:32 AM
Did you see this?  Divers found a shipwreck with 150 bottles of perfectly preserved champagne.  200 years at the bottom of the Baltic Sea actually helped in the aging process.
The diver who found it immediately popped open a bottle to celebrate.  He later learned it was worth about $82,000!  Oops!
One of my favorite ways to drink champagne is with popcorn.  What's your's?
Here's a great link for you to see how to make your own cocktails.
Happy Eating! (or drinking)

Let me make this perfectly clear - I love to eat!  It like the taste, the comfort and the love I feel from being able to create foods that make my loved ones happy.  What I'm not too thrilled about is the obvious possibility of gaining of weight.  And, for me, it doesn't take much to see the pounds start packing on.  Time to take stock and start dieting.
If you are trying to lose weight, be prepared to hit some plateaus. These are times where your weight loss simply stops for a while. You may hover around the same weight … (6 comments)

food blogs: MMM Good! Flavors that Work! - 03/21/11 06:26 AM
Did you ever read a recipe and think, "Those flavors don't sound like they work together"?  Just about every Saturday, during my morning cup of coffee, I like to watch the Foodnet channel to get some inspiration for meals I might want to cook during the weekend.
I tuned into Claire Robinson of Five Ingredient Fix a little late but just in time to see her showing off a really delicious-looking chicken recipe.  (I looked for the recipe so I could link it, but don't know the name of it.)  I printed off the recipe - minus the name of the … (10 comments)

food blogs: More-Than-A-Side Dish Couscous Recipe - 02/14/11 04:53 AM
More-Than-A-Side Dish Couscous Recipe - I found a box of couscous in the back of my pantry that I had never opened.  I can't even remember when I bought it.  But, apparently at the time, I felt the need to buy and cook it.  I've only had once before and thought it was kind of bland.
I really enjoy putting flavors together and, well, baby spinach was on sale and I recently discovered Feta cheese.  I know!  How on earth had I missed that one?!
Here's a recipe I created yesterday and it turned out to be one of my favorite … (8 comments)
