When selling your home keeping the house in order for showings is a challenge.  Here are a few tips we learned and used earlier this year when I had my own house of the market for sale.
First, before going to bed pick up any clothes that are lying around.  That includes fresh laundry or dirty clothes.  This eliminates a chore the following morning - no folding, hanging up, etc.  Additionally, while speaking of clothes, no one wants to see your dirty laundry.  If dirty clothes do not go in a hamper, then there should be a clothes basket for them.  Drape a … (0 comments)

Recently listed a home for sale that's about 15 years old.  As I was walking through the home with the owner, I complimented on the new bathroom tile floor.  She laughed and replied "it's Pergo".  My first thought was this is tile how can it be Pergo and started asking questions.  Again she told me it was a laminate product from Pergo and extremely well priced.  I know Pergo makes laminate wood flooring and this looked like travertine tile so I knew I needed to learn more.

When selling your home you may want to think about technology and how a home buyer sees your home.  Take a look around your home are the televisions big bulky objects or flat screen?  Do you have charging cords on the kitchen counters?  Are there iPods in your home?  Now is the time to make your home technology friendly.

We all know first impressions are the most important....especially when selling your home.  You want buyers who are excited to be at your home and wanting to see more.  Since the front of your home is the first thing they see, what can you do to make that impression exceptional?
Start with the shrubs...are they pruned and attractive?  Is there fresh mulch or pine straw in the bed?  If anything is dead or dying remove.  Can a prospective owner see the front door from the street and driveway?  Do some shrubs or plantings need to be removed?
