Perpetual Spring Mode in Missouri Here in Missouri, we seem to be in a perpetual spring mode. By this I mean, lots of rain and below normal temps. We have been hit by some of the worst storms I have ever heard of here. At my house, we had our own wind sheer.... caused this huge Hickory to come down across the road. What a mess! And we found out today, no insurance help to clean it up. I am glad it missed the house and the power lines although we were without power for 27 hours after this storm. Thankfully … (6 comments)

WARNING! Freeze Advisory for St. Louis, MO and Surrounding Areas Yes, we, here in Missouri(Mizery), are being given yet another dose of winter. Today it was freezing rain in some areas and while others were blessed with more SNOW! The Farmer's Almanac advises: Cover your tender vegetation with plastic, sheets, etc. to keep them from freezing to death. The expected lows in outlying areas will be in the low 20's for the next several days and they are forecasting SNOW again! I, for one, am sooooo ready for spring! Winter Weather Tips for Your Car in Missouri Ice-proof car windows with household vinegar. If frost is on the way, fill a spray bottle with three parts vinegar to one part water and spray the soloution on all your windows the night before. In the morning, they will be clear. Vinegar has acetic acid in it. This acid prevents the water from freezing! Car doors sticking shut? Prevent the problem with cooking spray.
