These images were shot from October 29 to December 18th - around 7:30 am every morning in the Cottages At Coffeepot, Soldiers Pass West Sedona to chronicle the onset of the color of this Japanese Maple. Rick tried to shoot the image prior to sunrise to avoid a silhouette effect. As they scroll past quickly, you will see the weather that came through including the 5 inches of snow the day after Thanksgiving. December 2nd and 3rd were the days of peak color. You (15 comments)

The Turning of My Japanese Maple... I am continuing to take a daily pic around the same time every morning. I will continue to do this until the tree is bare. I will offer a teaser as it changes. This is an 8-day change (October 29) to (November 6). My goal will be to create a video with all the images. I am anxious to see how it turns out.

Fall In Sedona Is Here! First Day Below 32º At the Cottages in Coffeepot
Today was the first day it dipped below freezing at our home. It didn't last long, but it got down to 28.8º at 6:08 am. It lasted from 2 am to 7:30 am so that is enough time to start the change in the leaves.
Our Cherished Spider Plant
My husband was scurrying around shutting off the sprinklers and bringing our cherished spider plant inside for the winter. It is 43 years old. We had it before my first son was born, and it has made it through every move since 1976!
One of my favorite times of year in Northern Arizona. Many visitors come from all over to see the Fall color in Oak Creek Canyon and contrast that with the majesty of the red rocks. Autumn, along with Spring are our busiest seasons of year. Actually, our Spring season starts in mid January and continues to the 4th of July! I have a beautiful Japanese Maple in my courtyard that has every color of the rainbow in it right now. Probably because it may get down to freezing on some days but the inside of the tree remains (6 comments)
