travel: Purple ~ Green ~ Gold ~ What These Colors Symbolize! - 02/28/17 03:12 PM
Fat Tuesday!
Purple ~ Green ~ Gold

Ahh!  The wonders of New Orleans.  New Orleans is known for it's French Quarter where you will find late night Jazz Clubs and celebrations in the streets especially Bourbon Street just about every night. But there is no bigger celebration than Fat Tuesday when Mardi Gras culminates!
The season is said to start on the Ephiphany and goes on until the last Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.  The Ephiphany is the celebration of the Three Kings who visit the baby Jesus.  It is celebrated on January 6th. There can be parades but there is usually one main … (43 comments)

A Slice of Paradise On the Other Side of The World

We visited Bora Bora during Monsoon but the weather was exciting.  Every day there was a different storm or sunset that made your jaw drop.  Many days a storm would come through and the rest of the day would be sunny!
All the main hotels and resorts are on motus around Bora Bora.  There is only one way to get to these hotels .... boat!

The picture above is one of my favorite storm pictures. There were lots … (25 comments)

Man In A Window....
Real Life - Misc. Category
Here is a man focused intently on a simple pleasure in life, reading a newspaper!
What makes this picture unusual is where it was taken and how it was taken.  The picture below will help put it in context.  The image was shot on the "streets" of Venice, Italy.  There was only one way to take this picture......from a boat, or more accurately, a Venetian  gondola!

All of the buildings in Venice seem to be falling apart. Especially on the canal side. Many buildings look as if they haven't been refurbished in decades or longer.  But … (13 comments)

There are so many fabulous shots of this resort.  It was bought out by the Hilton Chain. Currently it is being renovated and will open late March of 2017 as a Conrad Hotel.
It is not an easy trip for the faint of heart. There is an international flight from Los Angeles to the main island and then you take a puddle jumper to Bora Bora.  From the airport, you take a water taxi to your resort!  I recommend staying overnight on Papeete before getting on the puddle jumper.  Remember, you have a weight … (13 comments)

Monsoon Season 2007
Part 1

It was off season for this part of the world. There were just a few Japanese honeymooners and some folks from New Zealand and us!

This is a a bucket list destination that is well worth the memories it creates. There are many more resorts on this island now. But staying in a over-the-water bungeloo is enchanting.   Prices are out of this world though.  Back then a hamburger was $28. An over-the-water hut during off-season was $975 to $1200 a night!  Remember, off-season for them is winter for us! These storms don't linger but they are frequent. … (9 comments)

ABOUT ME: “Many buyers and sellers are skeptical about salespeople. So am I! But, I am not a typical salesperson. I put myself in your shoes and help you make decisions based on how I would want to proceed if I were you. In other words, what steps would I take and what is right for you? How will this transaction be beneficial for you? How will it help you move forward with your goals? How can I make it as smooth and pleasant as possible? What is in your … (7 comments)

travel: Aloha Friday ~ The Little Grand Canyon - Kauai - 03/11/16 04:36 AM
The Garden Island
Kauai - If you are trying to find "Old Hawaii", this might be the island you choose to visit.  It is the oldest island in the chain and the furthest west and gets the most rain.  But it sure is pretty. Hopefully these pictures will show just some of the scenery and majesty of what the Hawaiian Islands hold.  There is a certain mystic about these islands and Kauai reminds me the most of Sedona Arizona. When I first laid my eyes on "The Little Grand Canyon" I was in awe of how much it looked like majestic scenery … (6 comments)
