Remembering USS Arizona & Surprise Attack on Peal Harbor USS Arizona Memorial - Pearl Harbor HI USA Let Us Never Forget... Few of us remain that remember that "infamous day" in history. It was a day that would change history forever. On December 7,1941, one ship was damaged beyond repair, the USS Arizona. A bomb from a Japanese warplane pierced the deck and is thought to have hit a black powder magazine that caused a massive explosion. However there are two competing theories of what that bomb hit to cause the magazines to explode. No one knows for sure which magazine was hit. A Sobering Visit Many (16 comments)
If you have been to Pearl Harbor you already know what a special place it is. It brings out the emotions of those who cannot be shaken. Watching the drips of oil rise to the surface from the USS Arizona is unnerving. Too many young American service personnel were lost that fateful day and in days and years to come. Let us never forget...
